Stream Quality

Even the high quality stream doesnt go high. I think in the future more people would enjoy it if they could hear it in higher quality. Just an idea

Some people DJ at different qualities for the high bandwidth stream (depending on their codec's abilities, their upstream, etc). I, for example, can only broadcast at 56kbps to the high bandwidth stream due to my codec.

how do you make it go higher then? and when you send out the info you say only put it up so high for the high qulity one and it is still not very high, like around 96 or 128 or anything. Shoutcast used to show these high bitstreams but not since I connected to bkwr

You can go up to 112, because any more than that on Don's server and he'll have to lower the listener limit.
In the Encoder tab, you can adjust the bitrates for the encoders.

Try testing it when you have the opportunity and asking people what works and what doesn't. That's where I managed to find a nice spot with my stream quality. Enough people don't bother with this. They usually just use the same bitrate on the low stream as the high stream.

Before i ever connected to anything with shoutcast i could set it really high into stereo mode, but now they only go up to 56. Why would that be?

That's something to do with the default MP3 codec. The same has happened with me, and I tried installing several professional codecs (and enabling them via "Sounds and Multimedia") to no success :/
