• Check the schedule. I cannot stress how important it is that you don't intrude into other people's slots, unless the slot is on hiatus.
• Go in IRC (use the connection info on http://www.deathbyvanilla.com in a client of your own, or use the Java client also available on http://www.deathbyvanilla.com)
• If it's your slot and somebody else is hosting in it, ask them kindly to allow you to host.
• If it's a blank slot and somebody else is hosting, and you want to host a filler, ask them when they'll be done and call dibs. If somebody else has called dibs for some point after the current show, wait like everybody else.
• STAY in IRC to take requests, feedback, have discussion, etc.
• If it's a blank slot, don't stay on too long if others want to have a turn.

sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the "client of your own" ? Can i download one or something??

Yup. Search for "IRC clients" on Google, or search for specific ones: mIRC, Bersirc, xChat, Trillian, and Miranda are good. Also, if you use Mozilla, you can use its built-in client called ChatZilla.
